Grady Health System is searching for an exceptional professional to serve as Health System Architect and Director of Facilities Development which will lead its Campus Planning and Projects team. This person will guide the Health System through a Campus Master Plan this is an exceptional time to join Grady Health System. Grady Health System performs its education, research, service, and healthcare missions in over 3,665,277 square feet of real estate in and around Metro-Atlanta. As summarized below, we are seeking a registered architect who can further assist in shaping the future of Grady Health System, communicate alternatives, build consensus, lead initiative and then implement the master plan and its projects. This position will manage and direct activities of the Grady Health System Facilities Development Department and supervises the staff of project managers.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required. Master's degree in Architecture preferred
Five to seven (5-7) years of Facilities Development experience required
Work requires the knowledge of business general management and facilities development techniques
Requires registration as a licensed Architect and a valid Georgia driver’s license
Work requires an advanced level of knowledge of architecture; engineering and construction functions as would be acquired through a minimum of five to seven years of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Highly developed leadership skills, including significant prior experience managing large groups of people and large-scale projects effectively. Ability to provide vision and strategy, and drive process change throughout the organization.
Strong analytical skills to develop long-range facility plans and new methodologies.
Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills to solve highly complex administrative and/or managerial issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, for management meetings and preparation of plans and reports.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact, negotiate with, and persuade others, in extremely sensitive situations. In addition to regular contacts with the department, a significant amount of contact is with high-ranking officials, including GHS and the community.
