SUMMARY

Responsible for managing quality improvement activities of an assigned service team of the Grady Health System.  Coordinates service specific performance improvement activities with the medical staff, nursing, administration, and other services to ensure identification of areas for improvement and communication of those concerns to the respective source, supports corrective action planning and improvement efforts.  Analyzes and summarizes data into comprehensive reports.  Stays current with regulatory requirements and assists organization in meeting Joint Commission Hospital Accreditation Standards.  Assist with training of external and internal customers as needed.  Attends medical staff QA/PI meetings and manage cases for peer review. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality improvement philosophy, methodologies, applications.
  • Ability to use statistical techniques for data analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of JCAHO and other regulatory standards related to quality improvement, monitoring, and evaluation and organization linkages with safety, risk management, and other PI activities throughout the health care system.
  • Baccalaureate Degree
  • Registered Nurse
  • Experience abstracting data from medical records and turning it into actionable information
  • CPHQ certification desirable
  • Five years of health care experience, with two years in Quality Management or Utilization Review
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity desirable.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
