The Patient Safety Tech II under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or the Physician, is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Patient Safety Tech II provides personal care of selected patients requiring continuous observation, but are not limited to, patient requiring suicide precautions, patients who need supervision to prevent them from falling or otherwise harming themselves. The Patient Safety Tech II provides comfort measures and nourishment, performs selected tasks and therapies as directed by licensed personnel, when it is not feasible for the nursing staff to provide these services. The role of the Patient Safety Tech II also includes patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Current AHA BLS card
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program with a current State of Georgia certification card or successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program
• Patient Safety Tech II may also include: Clinic Assistants, Nurse Externs, and Paramedic Nurse Extenders, and other personnel who meet training/education eligibility requirements for their role
