The Nurse Audit Coordinator plans, organizes, and supervises the day-to-day work of the Nurse Auditors and the Revenue Integrity Charge Analysts. Responsible for ensuring chart audits are completed in an efficient manner. Supervises and conduct routine audits to meet compliance and charge capture opportunities. Supervises and conducts random audits to ensure accurate charge capture and identify areas of lost reimbursement. Plans audits to evaluate the adequacy and accuracy of documentation in support of services charged and billing standards. Leads the evaluation of charging processes to ensure that practices lead to the appropriate execution of regulatory requirements. communicates audit results, develops education material, and makes recommendations for corrective action. Trains Revenue Integrity and hospital staff in the appropriate documentation and charging practices in support of regulations and compliance standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration or related healthcare area required.
Current Georgia licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
Five years of clinical experience and Healthcare audit experience in reviewing medical records, documentation and billing required.
CPC and/or CMAS certification preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required.
General accounting skills and basic knowledge of third party requirements.
Project management and supervisory skills preferred
