Represents the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation in all legal matter affecting the Corporation as assigned by the Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs/General Counsel. Specific areas of responsibility shall include assisting outside counsel in managing malpractice litigation, working with Risk Management staff in developing cases research and writing on legal issues affecting the Corporation such as patient care, managed care, contracts, government relations, personnel and employee relations. Responsible for independently handling litigation and non-litigation matters for the Office of General Counsel.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active member of the State Bar of Georgia in good standing
3-10 years legal experience in litigation, healthcare, corporate and other related legal issues.
One year experience in the area of healthcare law or medical malpractice litigation preferred.
General knowledge of medical malpractice and healthcare issues
Ability to communicate well with others; demonstrate excellent legal writing skills; excellent legal research skills; ability to perform well quickly and under pressure; capable of rapidly acquiring knowledge of legal issues; and adept at oral communication.
